Just getting a feel of the lino tools - here is a test print of 'Mr Shepherd' aka 'Shep' - thought it would be an easy practice piece because, after all - he is black and white...
I haven't finished cutting the background yet - but PS it out here to give me an idea of what it will look like when finished - also just used an ink pad to get an idea of shading..
Shep - looks lovely - so excited about your prints -and remembering your style of work - I had forgotten - silly how you forget things !!!
ReplyDeleteNice work Jane!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great print, good use of line.
It brought back an odd memory. When I was doing lino cuts at school, our teacher used to make us sit on our lino for 2-3 minutes before we started - apparently if you warm it then it makes it easier to cut. You might want to give it a try and see if it helps?
worried if I sit on my lino - I might make some cheeky imprints!!! But thanks for the tip xx will try that next time
ReplyDeleteAwwww Jane, you're amazing. I really, really love this. xx
ReplyDeleteAny chance you can do a short blog on how to get started for beginners. I love your dog print and would like to do something similar.
